How do I apply for a job with Fortescue?
We accept applications online through SEEK.com.au and the Fortescue website.
Can I talk to a recruiter or hiring manager about an advertised vacancy?
Due to the high volume of interest we receive we are unfortunately unable to speak to prospective applicants directly. We encourage you to apply and Fortescue will contact if your skills and experience match the position you have applied for.
I’d prefer to not apply online, how else can I apply?
Fortescue only accepts online applications via the Fortescue website or SEEK.com.au We will not accept hard copy applications.
I’ve seen a job advertised online and want to know what it pays before I apply. How do I find out?
Fortescue always aims to remain competitive within the market. The total remuneration for an advertised position is dependent on the position, location and responsibilities of the role.
How often do jobs get advertised?
Our website is updated daily so we recommend you continually keep an eye on it to see what new vacancies are available.
The job I want to apply for isn’t currently advertised, what do I do?
If there is a position you are interested in at Fortescue you can register for a job alert on our Careers Page. Once the position of interest is advertised you will be notified by email.
I’ve heard from a friend who works at Fortescue that there’s a job going but I can’t see it advertised. How can I apply?
As part of our commitment to developing our people and promoting from within we may only advertise some positions internally for Fortescue employees. These positions are not available to the public unless advertised.
How long are jobs advertised for?
On average positions are advertised for two weeks. Due to the high volume of applications we reserve the right to commence the
recruitment process prior to the advertised end date.
What is the process after I apply for a position?
Once you apply for position with Fortescue the following steps occur:
1. You will receive an automated response confirming that we have received your application.
2. Your skills and experience will then be assessed by a Fortescue Recruitment Advisor and the Hiring Manager against the role’s selection criteria.
3. You will be advised as to whether you will progress to the Interview Stage.
If you are unsuccessful we will retain your resume in our database. If there are any delays in the Recruitment process you will be notified by email.
I’ve applied and haven’t heard back yet, why?
Fortescue receives a large response to the positions advertised. The process of assessing each applicant’s suitability against the position criteria can take time. We endeavour to get back to all applicants in a timely manner.
I’ve registered on the Careers Page but I’ve forgotten my username and password, what do I do?
If you forget your password you simply need to click on the “don’t know your password?” link on the website. This will take you through the steps to reset your password.
What do I do if I am having an issue using the website?

I am interested in the Fortescue Graduate Program, how can I apply?
We advertise for our Graduate intake annually, usually in March. If you want to stay up to date as these positions come available we suggest signing up for a job alert and keeping an eye on the website. For more information on the program head to the Fortescue People & Careers page on the website.
I am interested in Fortescues Vacation Program, how can I apply?
We advertise for our Vacation Student intake annually, usually in August. If you want to stay up to date as these positions come available we suggest signing up for a job alert and keeping an eye on the website.
I’m interested in an Apprenticeship with Fortescue, how can I apply
Fortescue will not be offering any new placements for external candidates in the Apprenticeship program in 2016.
